What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They allow a site to remember a preference between visits, keep you signed in, or measure how the site is used. Similar technologies such as local storage work the same way for these purposes, and this policy covers those too.
Our approach
Nothing beyond what is strictly necessary is set until you choose. On your first visit the consent banner appears and no analytics or marketing technology runs while it is open. Rejecting non-essential cookies is one click and has exactly the same prominence as accepting them.
Your choice is stored locally in your browser under the key clauzy.consent.v1. It is not sent to a server and it is not used to identify you. You can change it at any time using the Cookie settings link in the site index at the foot of every page.
The three categories
Strictly necessary
Always active, and exempt from consent because the site cannot function without them. These remember your cookie choice, maintain an authenticated session on the review service, balance load across servers, and protect forms against cross-site request forgery. Typical lifetime: session to 12 months.
Analytics
Only set if you accept them. These count page views, measure which pages lead to a trial, and record aggregate performance. We use a privacy-focused analytics provider hosted in the European Union, with IP addresses truncated before storage and no cross-site tracking. Typical lifetime: up to 14 months.
Marketing
Only set if you accept them. These measure whether a visit followed an advertisement or a campaign email, so that we can stop paying for channels that do not work. They may be set by advertising platforms we use. Typical lifetime: up to 13 months.

Managing your choice
Open Cookie settings from the site index at the foot of any page to reopen the preferences panel and change categories individually. Withdrawing consent stops future collection; it does not retroactively delete data already gathered, although analytics records expire on the schedule above.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the service from working, including staying signed in.
The free analyzer
The public clause analyzer sets no cookies of its own and transmits nothing. Clause text you paste is processed in your browser for that page view only and is discarded when you navigate away.
